The works in the 100×100×4.5 cm format, like the smaller pieces from color series 1, explore the intense interplay of light, space, and form. Central to this practice is the immediate perceptibility of color, its material presence and the way in which a chromatic field unfolds in relation to light and spatial context.

In color series 1 two chromatic tones enter into dialogue through juxtaposition and contrast. Yet, the larger paintings are reduced to a single hue. Within the apparent monochromy, a subtle spatial tension emerges and upon closer looking, a latent form or line begins to emerge—quiet, perceptible, and waiting to be discovered.
